Support rigs for D7000? (jag35 and others?)

i'm actually using the cowboy studio shoulder mount for the time being. it gets the job done and it's really cheap. i've bought a few additional attachments so my entire setup really doesn't cost more than $150 or so. whenever i need a high end rig, i just rent one for a week.

Could you upload a photo of your rig and include a list of things you've added in terms of attachments?

Thanks!

hi mirezzi!

im very impressed with your setup! (and it's great to know another nikon d7000 shooter!)

Which follow focus system do you use? price? site?

also..

do you use any other rigs/setups for your nikon d7000? do you use any external monitors?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Nice looking rigs guys, But I must be missing something here I'm sure. There is a D7000 rig here with a monitor on it. I didn't think it was possible to view output from a D7000 on HDMI while shooting? Mine switches to playback as soon as I connect the HDMI to a compatible TV. Is there a way round this or do you guys just use the monitor for playback?

You can use HDMI out while shooting. HDMI monitor should be connected and on before you turn on your camera. Turn your camera on and switch to live view. You should see live image out on your monitor or tv.

Ok that didn't work but I think I know why. I am connecting to a consurmer TV as a test. The D7000 then goes into cec mode (Consumer electronics control) and so expects the TV to control it. Problem with that is it then just wants to play back only and refuses to stay in record mode. Does anyone know if its possible to turn this feature off on the D7000.

Cracked it. If you're using a Modern TV as a monitor that suports CEC then it won't work. It will always switch to playback. To correct this you go into the D7000 menu, find the HDMI menu option and in there turn device control off. Hey presto it stops the camera switching straight to the CEC menu for playback when it's connected to the HDMI and you have an HDMI monitor.

Ah if it's the Nikor AF 50mm then I have the same lens, great value for money that one. I assume thats some kind of step up rings and hood you have on the end of it then

Here is a shot of me interviewing R&B Singer "Jeremih" last summer. I had my Nikon on my DVRig Pro. At the time I had my Zoom H4N Audio Recorder mounted on the backside of the rig.

In this photo, I have my Zoom mounted up front next to the camera so I can monitor the audio levels and make adjustments. I am using the SLR piece from Bracket-1 as well as an over the camera attachment piece to mount the zoom.
