SuperMoon

nice, I shot some footage last night with my wife and kids, We both were a bit underwhelmed. After reading the hype online, and blah, blah ,blah. I really didn't think it was any different than a normal full moon. Maybe a bit brighter, but that was about it. The articles made it sound as if the moon was going to be twice the size and super bright, because were closer and, yeah, whatever. I have to stop feeding into the internet hype. lol

It was a lot larger when it first rose but was so low in the sky the clouds covered it and the streetlight bleed was worse, once it was fully up in the sky when this shot was taken it was only slightly larger but did fill the full frame as you can see.

Beautiful Gary! And the song is one of my Pink Floyd's favorite! Yesterday on my town only clouds....the lens is very powerful!

Not bad for a £80 70-300mm f4 nikon lens and the CAC filtering on the 301 is a lot better than when I did the same shot a few years ago with a Z7.

The clip is real time at 25fps with the camera locked off, the movement comes from the moon's orbit around us!
I did a similar clip a few years ago with my Z7 which is actually a bit clearer due to no cloud in the sky: http://vimeo.com/1034579

Yes i like the Z7 clip! Great Gary! No timelapse! I have not realized that the moon moves so fast when you look at it with a tele! Magic!

Yes everyone who looks at the clip thinks it is animation or that I am panning the camera but it is the moon's orbit that causes the movement across the screen, still quite magical as you say but at 2100mm focal length I can't even get near the camera once it is locked off.
