superheros you really hate

I'd like to take this opportunity to reminisce about Captain Planet and his good pals- Earth, Wind, Water, Fire and Heart.

That took me through part of childhood!

And The Tick is pretty good for a laugh!

(Instead of going for some I hate, thought I'd bring up some fun ones!)

I enjoyed watching the hulk series with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferigno as a kid. That movie a couple years ago kinda sucked. I remember some kid telling me in junior high... Dont make me angry Kevin, you wouldnt want to see me when I'm angry. He was serious too haha.

Anyway, Turtles rocked!! they had Vanilla Ice in one of thier movies!

This thread is oddly interesting to me...what is ya'll's take on The Hulk? Superhero, or no? I mean, regardless of whether you like him or not, do ya'll consider him a superhero?

uhh, I really don't like the movie...so I don't like Hulk too.

I've never been a fan of superheroes. With the tights and the weird little toys they all seem to carry, it just always seemed a little... "off" to me.

As a long-term comic geek, I have to say Batman sucks. He just never moved me or inspired me or captivated me in an way. Even the "dark knight" series (I think that's what it was called) was lame. I guess it's cuz he doesn't have super powers. He's a dude with cash and muscles. I guess I just never bought he could survive in a world where there were superheroes (and villains) like Superman, Green lantern, Flash or whatever.
He's not just a guy with cash and mucles -- also uncanny reflexes, acrobatic ability, and intellect.

I don't think of him so much a s a limited superhero, but more like Sherlock Holmes with a batterang.

And I'm with Spidey on the idea that his vulnerability in a realm of superheros is what makes him cool. It's kind of like when the coach puts the retarded kid in the football game and he does OK because he has lots of heart (Rudy) or what ever. Because the obstacles are greater for Batman/Rudy its more rewarding when they triumph and the journey is more perilous/ in teresting.

But I also like Superman, despite the fact that he's basically invulnerable. Somthing cool about a guy that can catch a falling bus while being riddled with bullets. But the lack of vulnerability was always a challenge that the writers had to overcome and from my very limited exposure to Superman, they seem to do OK.

Not that they are superheros, but the same could be problematic of Samantha on Bewitched. She could potentially solve any problem, circumvent any obstacle -- boring, but Darin provided the obstacle by forbidding magic in the house until it becasme the only option and the audience got what they had been wanting all along -- to see Samantha do some magic.

This is why clarissa the teenage witch sucks (ok just one of the reasons) from the few times a I momentarily stopped on that channel. Everybody in that house uses magic all the time to solve every problem with no consequences -- there are complications, but only sometimes as a result of teh magic and then those complications are easily fixed with magic -- boring.

That was the geekiest thing I've ever written

A superhero that sucks is Dare Devil, but only cause Ben Afflect played him, never read the comic book so don't know how cool he was until Aflec ruined him.

he's basically a ghost that was an acrobat called deadman in his act then he gets shot during his routine and because he lived a bad life these Eastern Gods are use him as an intermediary between the living and the dead rather than letting him rest

so he would jump into midgets and old ladies and fat security cops and make them do back flips and throw punches and stuff and sometimes he would have battles on metaphysical planes of existencea and sometimes with people who could see the dead with special goggles and who had special soul zapping ray guns.

If I'm ever a bigtime director and hollywood is still making Superhero movies, I'd dust him off and do a Deadman flck

Never really understood Aquaman. So his power is he can talk to fish?!? Big deal!!! Creatures with a brain the size of a pea are probably not the greatest conversationalists.

I'd rather have the power to talk to monkeys. They probably have funny stories to tell, and if you're going to have an army you'll want them to have opposable thumbs so they can use tools and weapons.

Me and my monkey army will destory Aquaman and his school of fish. BAM!!!!
