i found this old camcorder in my garage a few days ago
the sony handycam vision ccd-trv87
and well i thought maybe i could have some fun shooting random things with it
but i have a problem on how to export the footage
it doesnt seem to have a firewire slot thingy anywhere
it does have a rca slot
is there like a firewire but for rcas?
ionno does anyone know how to export film with this camera

I've taken my old videos and hook it to my digital camcorder and used it as a VCR. Then once you record it to the digital camera it has a time code and you can put it in your computer to edit, make DVDs.
I have old stuff on VHS tape. I just hook the digital camera up to the VCR via RCA jacks. It takes time but it works

sorry but the way u explained it is sorta... hard to understand?
so when u say your digital camcorder ur saying u have another camera to record it to?
is there annyyyyyy way to just export from this camera straight to the computer?

I'm pretty sure the trv87 is pre-firewire.

Use the RCA connectors on the trv to connect to a camcorder that *does* have firewire, and import from *that* camcorder into the computer, is what Zim is saying.
