Super Happy Hot Dog Fun is a choose your own adventure, DIY, hot origami movie that I am in the process of making. I plan to shoot, edit and authorize a DVD to bring to market by mid July for Otakon 2009 in Baltimore, MD.

I shot on my HPX-500 P2 in 1080P24. I plan to have sample videos edited by this time next week.

The official website is: http://superhappyhotdogfun.com with a blog that documents the process up until the DVD release. I recently added production photos of this weekend's shoot.

It's Instructional Lunchy Goodness.

Okay Pixelseed I think you've fried my brain. Cool, but why a hotdog and not a sausage?
(On a technical note you might want to deinterlace the footage for smoother progressive playback)

Hblack,

Wow, I am being called weird from a guy that makes a zombie movie. Thanks, I think I am onto something here. BTW I liked your film.

Deano,

Thanks for the deinterlace tip. I should have known better. I was burning the candle at both ends to get it out. I will fix it for further videos.

One of many reasons for using a hot dog is that a sausage doesn't work well after the casing has been cut. Hot dogs hold their shape better. If I was going with plastic molds for shaping, then sausage all of the way. Also, hot dogs are cleaner and can be easily cooked on a grill, microwave, pot of water, and frying pan, depending on the desire finished texture. A downside, hot dogs are grainier in texture than expected and made carving difficult for some of the video ideas which worked well only in theory. One regret I do have is that over 120 hot dogs lost their lives in the making of this movie.

Be careful of the medium you use for practical application.
