Super clear compression settings for Youtube/Flash

Hey Ash. Can you post a link to your vid? Thanks.

EDIT: Oops. Just saw that it needs to stay private! I'll try that now then.

How long is your vid? Did you de-interlace it?

My name on Youtube is ashVID, send me a friend request on there and I will let you look at the video.

ash =o)

I'm trying to compress a 9:40 second video using Quicktime h.264 at a bitrate of 1000. How long should this take because it's taking me a VERY long time. Final Cut also keeps 'quitting unexpectedly' too and it's not finishing. I have enough memory, so that's not the problem.

So far it seems like the best results on youtube have been using the ipod settings in compressor. It's still not the quality that I'm looking for though.

* I also realize that nothing will look 100% perfect on youtube, but there are a lot of videos posted there that look pretty good.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I tried that - several times and even changed it up a bit when I didn't get good results. Didn't work too well...

The movement was very choppy and not smooth at all and the image quality wasn't very good either.

Anyone else?

This is driving you absolutely insane, isn't it?

I think it's kinda funny...:cheesy:

Don't know what to tell ya, though. I've seen some great looking vids on there, researched a bit, but have no idea how they're doing 'em.

Yeah, it really is!!!! I'm compressing RIGHT NOW!! I need to get this up like weeks ago!!!

I can't understand why this info is so hard to come by...People HAVE TO know how to get good results on youtube with Quicktime or Compressor.

I'm trying to compress a 9:40 second video for youtube using Quicktime. The problem is that when I set the bitrate where it needs to be Final Cut keeps 'quitting unexpectedly' when it gets around 70% done. The highest I've been able to get it to work for is 1000.

ANyone have any clue what the problem could be or have you had any similar experiences?

That looks awesome.

I usually just use the H.264 Broadband preset and it looks pretty good.

Not as good as Ben's. But certainly better than most of the crap on YouTube.
