Super Cheap GH1 RIG

Hey Guys,

I recently put together a cheap GH1 DSLR rig out of items I found online and at Walmart. I wanted to mount a Comer 1800 to my GH1 (I know about the punch through), yet also find a way to stabilze the GH1 a little, give myself more control over focus, and monitor my wireless audio. Total cost of the setup was $56.

I'm sure alot of people will think this is a horrible setup, but feel free to let me know what you think, or what you would do to improve upon it without spending a lot of money. Here's the link that shows what I used.

Thanks,

That's a horrible setup. :D

Seriously, if it works for you, who cares what anyone else thinks? I applaud both your thriftiness and your resourcefulness.

Perhaps you could post some footage shot with the rig?

nice work Jim-- I love finds like this..

Haha. Yeah. Ever want to pull focus and make a a sandwich at the same time, but don't know how?

Seriously though, I'll try and get some footage up this week, thanks guys.

Rig aside....

I am actually a huge fan of the Stedi-Stock for the price. The camera is so light that a gunstock is a great inexpensive stabilization option.
