Super 35mm Panasonic RUMOR?

I haven't heard the term "super 35 micro 4/3" ... They are different form factors
after all and would be confusing for me (although it doesn't take much :-) ).

We'll find out in short-order.. NAB is a month away.

The rumor going around on this forum and others is m4/3 mount with Super 35 chip that can crop to M4/3 so it's backwards compatable with M4/3 lenses.

My sources are telling me NOT to expect S35 sensor cameras from Panasonic this year. Hope they're wrong! MFT offers a plenty shallow DOF, but field of view is a bit limiting at times. I have clients that reject the AF100 on the false assumption of not having shallow enough DOF, but sometimes due to narrower FOV.

No big deal...rent a Red or an Alexa for their shoots. Give them what they think they want and make them pay for the lesson.

I have no idea why one would come out with such a product. You can work around the S35 vs. MFT factor by either
camera positioning or lens choice ( just as one works around Full-Frame vs S35 ). What's more important
to me is more latitude and resolution with the m4/3 sensors ... plus something other than the AVCHD codec.

That would be a big step forward if you're going to stick with the format.

PS: With the exception of the Nokton .. we have no big investment in the MFT mount .. in fact
we've spent a bit adapting larger formats to the AF100.

That's kind of why we wound up getting a Scarlet .. at some point you just have to give in to demand rather than
justifying what you have.
