Sunset Timelapse on the lake

Re: Sunset Timelapse on the lake

Hey. Great clip. It looked very professional and reminded me of some of the shots from Survivor (yes, I watch survivor...). What did you have your DVX set on for the time lapse (length between shots)? How much actual time lapsed during this clip?

Great job!

Re: Sunset Timelapse on the lake

Thanks for the compliments. I basically used the 24PA settings but cranked the color to about 4, pedestal to -5 and used the camera's shortest timelapse setting 0.5 seconds, etc. and shot at 30P. The actual time that passed during this capture was about 75-90 mins, can't remember exactly.

Great shot..had all the elements for a good time lapse..cloulds, sun, wind on the water and trees. I think it would look even cooler if sped up even more. Have you ever tried shooting some time lapse over the course of sunset to dark then back to sunrise. I suspect that could be very tricky to do it right..aperature changes and all. I may try that soon..perpahps with something to see a shadow moving as time lapses by.

One more thing I forgot to mention, I sped the footage up 10 times in Premiere Pro and used the frame blending option. The raw footage is way too jerky to use for any serious timelapse work. The blending smooths out the movement nicely.
