"Sun Sessions" shot on DVX

That was surprisingly good. It's long for something on the net, but well worth it.

Honestly I can't find anything wrong with it. I'm in awe of the writing. The acting is top notch. Great cinematography. Everything came together well. Very very entertaining. Really great main character, and the Elvis stuff was a great touch.

Also loved the intro of the main guy, very well written. Oh and loved the scene in the classroom at the end of the "short stories" and the way it cut to the song, brilliant editing there.

Thanks a lot Jon, I'm glad you liked it. I wish festivals felt the same way you did. I do agree that it is a bit long and the next thing I do will be half the running time, for sure.

i enjoyed this immensely! everything was great, from the cinematography to the acting to the writing. I especially enjoyed the part where he presents his "short story" to the classroom. "He's a freckle collector, Jane! He's a god damn freckle collector and nothing more!" Genius.

I loved this!
The cinematography was great! It was fun and of course very well done. I thought the acting was great as well! It was very funny and very entertaining. Great editing!
I was impressed by the length of it. I struggle to write anything past a few minutes long so it's films like this that really are inspiring for me!
Keep up the good work!

Eddie,

I gotta hand it you. Usually, I take a quick peek at everyone's stuff in a new "browser tab", advance the time-line past the opening credits, sample the intro and then shuttle through the rest of their vid to make sure I'm not missing something unique... and then click the big red X in the upper right-hand corner cuz 99 out of 100 times it warrants it. Yours on the other hand...

LOVE the use of Americana... rarely used on the DIY level or at least used effectively. Your film is quite sophisticated, well cut and well told overall. You wrote well, cast well, shot well and cut well. Aside from the limitations of DV and constrained budgets, I think your film hit it's mark.

In conclusion... your film made me long for my high school days of hanging out with buddies, chain smoking, playing in a band, girl trouble and of course... attending class drunk on a regular basis.

My hat is off to you on this one.
