Director's Commentary:
This is the 4th film in my "Dr. Malcolm" series, and above all the others, I like this the most. Christina Longman does a fantastic job portraying Anna, a mentally disturbed girl with voices in her head. For the lighting I wanted to show contrast between cold and dark, further enforcing the idea of her mental conflict. Camera work was done by Bryan Coffey and he did a fantastic job. I have always liked films with lots of camera movements, and coupled with the lighting, I feel it brings a very interesting dynamic to the film. The editing techniques I used are fun to play with because anything goes. I used lots of jump cuts and sound design to give the video an eerie feeling.

very nice editing and sound design. the acting is ok too. i like the camera movements like the circulr dolly around 1:20-ish
problem is the choice of lighting is very campy and un-cinematic. specifically the color temperature of the purple rim/kicker lights. everything is done pretty ably so i can tell you are pretty skilled but that purple light just makes it look like a cheap student film. probably would be more effective without that purple light or something a little more realistic like red.
either way the editing was the strongest point and kept me hooked

Thanks for the feedback. It really seems people either love the lighting or hate it. Allow me to defend my decision; the lighting is not to reflect reality. In fact its supposed to be unrealistic. As for color choices, when she's in a surreal state everything is darker, colder, except the illusion who represents the only sliver of hope she has. As for when she's in the brick room her outfit and lighting are much brighter as if bloody. The illusion on the other hand is wearing blue to tie the films two color casts together.

I thought the writing was clever, But absolutly hated the "BAD TV EFFECT" It's so overdone, and it takes away from this production big time. The lighting was really meh. It actually takes away from the acting because it crushes out their facial expressions. If I did this, The eyes would have been my main focus. The eyes dont lie, If an actor can express their emotions throught their eyes, then they can convince the audience, they are that person. If that makes sense. I think if you redid the piece, it could be amazing. just needs tweaked. Oh, and it's a bit long. But other than that, It was cool.
