GH2 Suggestions for a GH2 backup camera (video)

Im going on a trip deep into Africa soon and need advise on a bcam for the gh2. Not necessarily for multi cam use but in the case that something happens to my gh2. I will be in the wild and wont be near any repair or electronic shops and am paranoid that all my time and money spent on equipment, lenses and expectations for the trip will be ruined if the camera gets damaged (thunderstorm almost claimed my gh2 last time). Especially since Im going to film.

I'll be gone for over a month so spending money on a small, video enabled camera (cheaper) to replace the gh2 will be a GREAT relief . My lenses include the 100-300mm, 14-140, and 25mm Voigtlander. I'd hope for sometihng as close as a gh2, in terms of quality and matching video of the two cameras.

Im just looking for info and suggestions on what I could do.
thanks

+1 for another GH2 body.
No worries about color matching and big plus to share the same battery and lens.
I think you can still sell it at a good price if you decide not to keep it after the trip.

Unfortunately none of the other cheaper lumix models have 24p, so if that is what you're using that is what you'll need. Just spring for a second body and a pelican case for the whole kit, and be good to go.

The GH2 is cheap enough to buy two bodies. Beside being easy to match, you will be able to share the lens and accessories.
The other option is to get a AG-AF100 and use your GH2 as the B cam.

Also depending on your rig, you may consider a cage to protect your camera from any unexpected shocks.

2 GH2's is the way to go. I was doing a shoot yesterday. One Gh2 was doing timelapse
while I shot video with the other one.

Thanks for all the input. I didnt really consider it because i always expected a GH3 to really be the next body in the kit. I was kinda looking towards gf1/gf2 but the cost of a gh2 body is worth all of the footage and result if the worst case scenario happens. i tihnk ill have to get a second body and probably sell it if i dont need it, as mcbob suggested. Its a nice reason to have the silver one now also lol

Compared to a gh2 how good is the gf1/gf2 footage anyway?
