Suggestions for a cheap, miniDV VCR?

Hey everybody,

I took all my footage on the DVX.

I bought el cheapo Samsung camcorder to use as a playback device, but it's messing up all the audio. It even says in the manual:

"We recommend that you use this camcorder to play back any tapes recorded on this camcorder. Playing back a tape recorded in other equipment may produce mosaic shaped distortion."

If only it had said that on the box. It was the cheapest camera available at Best Buy.

Should I just go and get the next higher model and hope that works?

Any suggestions on a better, low-end camera to use for playback... logging/capturing.

I agree with Steve. The Canon ZR500 is what I am using and it works perfect. No drops of video or audio yet so far. I found mine slightly used on Craigslist for $120.
