Suggestion for panasonic p2 store hard drive upgrade options

this is unbelievable. in 5 years panasonic and no one has upgraded the firmware? I can't believe this. The p2 store would be a huge asset if this happened. and it does seem like panasonic is holding an affordable way to store and read p2 footage over our head.
 
Holding what "over our head?"

The p2 store was useful when 4/8 GB p2 cards were the norm. Now, 16/32/64 GB cards are the norm.

It's slow and clunky.

The new p2 reader is USB2 based runs under $350.00.

The p2 store has outlived its usefulness and should be EOLed.
