Suggested scene file setting

Hi guys,

Ive recently pulled my old HVX out and keen to put it back into service and was wondering what scene file setting people were using and what is recommended. I never really got my head around the scene file settings when I was shooting with the camera previously so I appreciate any assisted direction I can be given :)

Im looking for a low noise, good DR setting to start with so I'm currently using the cine D with a bit lower chroma level and +1 coring & +2 Master pedestal, but unsure if the settings are complimentary or not.

Will continue to experiment and would love some advice :)

Using B-Press for your gamma will reduce noise over the Cine settings and for me, I like the contrast.

The looks you can achieve with these cams is so diverse, much of it depends on what-where you are shooting and your message. When I first got my 170, I did a day of experimenting. I would pick a setting with a bit of every color, and shot some clips with different scene files. After unloading them and viewing, I would repeat after some tweaking. It was a great way to learn the cam and learn how the different scene file settings effect the image.

Thanks guys,
Ive been doing a bit of experimenting. I was always able to get great images out of my HVX previously but just getting more into really fine tuning things.
I have my Af100 set up just right but finding the HVX doesn't respond in exactly the same way.

Now using
B Press
Cine Like
Detail -2
coring 0
Chroma level -2
Master pedestal -3

Continuing to fiddle :)

I did see this video the other day http://vimeo.com/19380961 and was really impressed. Now can some one tell me the way to shoot rain as its shot at the 18 sec mark? Is that a use of a high shutter speed or frame rate or both? Or am I just over complicating it?

Thanks again
