Success with P2 Log Pro?

I'm just wondering how many people have had much success with P2 Log Pro. I want to use its repair function as i only have the mxf video files and non of the metadata from the P2 card.

So from what i understand the website says that P2LogPro will create the metadata for me from just my mxf files. However, i have tried the demo version and its says it has repaired the clip and it has created what looks like the info needed by FCP to import the P2 contents but when i try and import into FCP the P2 importer just shows a folder and no clips in it.

Has anybody had any success recreating the contents folder from just mxf files?

Are there MXF files in the Video and Audio folders? How big is the total volume? If under 500MB I'll give you a ftp site to upload to have a look at the contents to determine what's wrong.

And yes, of course it does work, though I doubt you'll get many replies on this forum (since the people that tossed their P2 folders would have known better if they were regular reads of this blog!).

There are no video and audio folders, just the mxf files for hte video. I dont need the audio, just the video.

there are lots of files some are only small some very large. If i can get P2 Log Pro to recreate the data needed to import into FCP then i'll probably buy it, but if it doesn't then i'll buy avid as i know it edits them natively. Although i'd rather not have to spend all that money on avid.

After P2 Log Pro has created the new directory just import it via P2 Log and you should see the repaired files. I don't bother with FCP in this respect, only P2 for re-log.

I tried that and it didn't work. It could be just becasue the demo version didnt work properly for some reason. which could be a result of a number of issues.
