Aloha All!

Recently I started production on my feature film here in Hawaii called "Subjective Expressions". So far we've had a clean 2 week start with amazing footage!
From November to January I had rehearsals and cinematography tests which I decided to compile into a short trailer. This thread is purely to show my progress in my film and let people know whats going on here.
Here is the conceptual trailer:

We are shooting on the 5D Mark II

Our blog is being updated regularly with shots from the shoots:

Additionally we've got a facebook page as an option for those wishing to use that network instead for updates:

I hope others can benefit from this documentation. I know how much it meant to me when I was able to read other feature films documented on forums.

Basically I wrote the film during a 6-month Euro trip after graduating high school. I came back to Hawaii and 3 months later have started production on a MUCH different version I originally had in mind. The whole idea was to experiment with a longer length of story. My focus has been on short films with no budgets and bad sound. Now I've upgraded to excellent camera quality- actual sound and a decent budget enough to cover sandwiches and drinks.

The issues we simply face are unclear time management situations. Because it is a low budget film its hard to have everything laid out clearly with people open to any time. I, as the director, have had to adjust greatly to my actors. Which isn't new and certainly not a bad thing. Can see that a next step up perhaps in the distant future would be able to have control of such elements. Being able to determine what works for me rather than guessing when and how to do shoots

This feature is not at all a serious production- our crew is roughly 1-2 people at most. In fact the actors are the crew when they can be.
For now I start with a simple poster that is not at all a final design
The film has a long way to go- hoping to wrap in May
If anyone out there is reading- Aloha!
