Sub forum for Pal dvxuser???

Hi Everyone,

This is my first official post!! However, for the last 8-10 months i have been
surfing this forum religiously!! Anybody who visits here frequently can and will
see my name as the most frequent user for all the time!!

For past 10 months i have learned so much from Barry Green, Jarred land, Andy_Starbuck,Mattin_Stl, Yankees, Snod-art, John Hudson, Papa, Timur and
sooo many others ( please excuse me if i misspeled someones name) !!

Now that i feel like i know you guys personally!!

Before i forget i have to thank Rush Hamden; the creator of the Digital Cinema: Filmmaker's cinema course!!

For all the newbie and semi-professionals out there i will strongly recommend
his Dvd training course!!!

I will also highly recommened Richard's Coolvideolights DIY fluorescent video lighting dvd for anyone who is interested lighting with fluorescent lights !!

Now here is my situation, i am in the U.S for past 20 years and i am almost 40
years now!!

At this stage of my life i have recently decided to become a filmmaker!! Please, don't laugh. I have previuos acting experience on stage and one film while i was young!! Past 20 years in the U.S besides working odd jobs to feed my family and three losing business venture all i have done passionately was to watch movies!! In an average 1 every day!!

Currently i put my house on sale and planned to invest as much as $15000 to buy a dvx100a or dvx100b( I am still debating),decent editing platform Pc or Mac( still debating), Fcp or premier , Glidecam 2000/4000 pro or Multi-Rig (debating), Hyson or Indie-Snap matte box ( debating), Letus 35 or M2 (if i
go rotating gg route) Or between Twoclick and go-35 ( if i go static gg route),
however, i am stiil anxiously waiting for Snod_arts DIY 35 adapters dvd!!:kiss: .

As for audio anyone who follows Mattin_stl and Yankees posts it is pretty much easy to decide which Mics to buy. I will buy oktova, ntg2 shotgun with softie and so forth.. However, i am still confused about which mixer....

For lighting i will go with the Flourescent all the way, conjunction with couple of light panel from Vidled, some pelican flash lights with lots of goodies like
gels, flags, skrims, silks etc.

Have i mentioned that i will be buying all these stuff for me to start working in the TV media in back home, Bangladesh in about 6-8 months??

Yes, thats right my plan is to make some kind of positive impact in the broadcast media to begin with and my dream is to make movies in near future
which will make you guys proud of me oneday!!! Now, you all can laugh!!!
Just to let you guys know there is not a single camera out there with 35 mm adapter!!! Even though they use some expensive Sony(mostly) betacam and
other minidv camera!!

Here comes my proposal to the moderators, is it possible for you guys to create one seperate Sub-forum or Thread just for Pal land dvxusers??
Where people from different part of the world can share there informations,insights, knowledge and resources for other pal dvxuseres.
I have seen bunch of posts from pal-land get lost or unanswered!!

Take my example for instance who visits and search dvxuser on daily basis still
haven't found a single reliable source to buy a dvx100ae or dvx100be from the U.S. There was 1 at B&H but not anymore!! I feel frustrated!! Should i buy from U.K?

Any reply or comments on my post are most welcome. Sorry for the long and boring post. Once again, thanks to every single members of this awsome forum.

Well but 97% of all the questions relates both standards. So it only makes it harder for the avarage user to find the information.

Not speaking of all the doubble posts.

-Why is there a purple line on my left side of the screen?
-whats the clinking sound my DVX does when its turned of?
- why doesnt mu movies look like a jerry bruckheimer production?
- Can I change my F settings.

I kinda like the idea, but here are my issues with it some of which movie swede pointed out.

First, as he said most of the information on this forum is universal.

Second, we are a community man A global community. I realize Pal users may often be a minority here, but at the same time I fear we might quickly see a segregation of PAL and NTSC users, and information may be come more difficult to find, as pal users will start only posting their q & a's in the PAL only sub-forum and NTSC in theirs. It could muddy things up.

Maybe a sticky thread or two in some of the appropriate sections might not be a bad idea, though.
A "Where to buy for PAL users", and a sticky for PAL related workflow issues etc.

I can see where some of the PAL related issues may be difficult to find as the word PAL is omitted from a search. Then again, I am not great at the search function yet.

A section for news on PAL support as it arrives in the various NLE's, etc. Then again, maybe that section could just say get EDIUS

when i proposed about sub-forum for pal-dvxusers, a couple of 'sticky threads'
