Style of your Zombie flick

Anyone care to elaborate what kind of style they shot their zombie short in. For example mine was shot run and gun documentary style. Mainly because of time constraints due to trying to shoot during the magical hour. Were your movies shot mostly at night/day/morning? Lots of zombies/only a few zombies? Lots of gore, moderate gore?
 
Well, mine is neoclassical/pop with an art noveau/minimalistic pinch and an impressionistic/abstract hue. It's turning really fabulous!
 
Mine's a little crappy also... not that it's anybody's fault but my own... I made some odd choices such as wireless booming when I should have gone cam-mounted shotgun the whole time. Also I did this whole thing with 100% strangers... I didn't know one person in the group and our first two days (tries) were getting to know each other and me explaining what looks best for the camera... and then trying to solve those problems.

I wanted to do a story that would justify a documentary or "COPS" shooting style. How about this for a good idea? Which we DIDN'T do... but an investigative report where the reporter and cameraman are checking out some local rumors about "fill in the blank"... and some other punks are checking out the same place which gives our reporter and cameraman an excuse to catch a zombie killing somebody, etc, etc... you can picture the type of shots, with the camera shaky at times and both running and hiding and trying to get more and more of the story before realizing they too are being hunted and need to escape... and of course DON'T. How's that for a 5 minute story that solves the technical problems of lighting (on cam) sound (stick mic and on-cam ambience) and cinematography (handheld character would ADD to the realism)... Nobody wanted to do MY idea!

As it is our movie is trying to take a serious approach to making a zombie flick... and you can laugh when you see and hear us hitting the wall of our limitations... "I did my best. I have no regrets."
 
Mine is a pathetic attempt to place a classical fairy tale into a modern setting. It's a 'student project' - need I say more? :grin:
 
Wow, it sounded like everybody is trying for the run and gun/documentary style of a movie. Which is a crap!!!!!!!


cos my movie is the same thing.

no but seriously, I don't know what mine is, I tried to make it look kind of like old silent horror movies, but it doesn't really look too much that way. The story is just my weird idea that is in the style of I don't know what, I guess you guys will probably see.
 
Mine is also a narrative...attempting to cram a lot of story in five minutes.

I recently showed it to my aunt. After the film concluded, she sat still with an uncomfortable expression scrawled across her face, like she'd just watched sausage being made.

Finally she spoke. "Well," she said, "That . . . was very . . . creative?"

I'm not sure my aunt likes zombie movies. :thumbsup:
 
Mine falls into the narrative catagory with a lot of homosexual undertones associated with it (according to my girlfriend).

Beside that, mine is crap but I learned a ton from the experience, so I'm reasonably happy with the end result, even if the movie is crap.

I'm in your same boat!! Well...aside from the homosexual undertones.
 
Mine is looking more and more like a dark comedy… maybe?

I would have a better idea if the editor had something for me to watch… though I am sure it will be soon… ?
 
Ours is definately a dark comedy. I've seen some of the roughs and as creepy as the zombie looked, I spent a lot of time laughing at the absurdity of it.

lol I can see it now... body parts falling off, maybe getting stuck... oh it would be really bad.. lol
