Stupid question - Content Management Utility quality

This is a somewhat embarrassing question. I imported all my FS100 footage with the Content Management Utility (which is a pretty dreadful utility). I started syncing/editing that footage (in CS5.5), and then realized that it may not have been the highest quality decoding method. Here's the question:

Is content imported with Content Management Utility of the same quality as the original SVCHD content from the camera, or is there some additional compression that takes place when importing using that tool? All the imported files are .m2ts, and there seem to be no quality settings in the utility, so I am hoping I am good.

I'm sorry - I realize there is a bunch of info about SVCHD online, and I *think* I am okay, but I need to be sure. I REALLY do not want to reimport/sync all my footage, but I also REALLY do not want to keep editing if I'm working on a downgraded copy of the original footage. Hope y'all understand.

Should be absolutely the same files, only different filenames. I used both ways to copy files off the camera and I don´t see a difference

Bear in mind that you can just drag the PRIVATE folder off the SD card and import it directly into CS5.5.... that's how I do it. I haven't found much of use in CMU. (Don't try pulling in the .mts files individually, that wont work.)

Awesome. Thank you both. I had actually dragged the files off the card onto my HD. Once I started using Premiere, that's what got me thinking that I should have just pulled the files straight in from the Private folder rather than importing through CMU.

Anyway, I'm just glad I haven't wasted a hundred or so hours of work. Cheers!
