Stupid mistake #2 on losing my geekhood

Charli

cool little "title"
So yesterday I am engaged in chat on facebook and I log off to have some dinner. Now I use voice-activated software to do chat and a lot of stuff online.

So I get back to the laptop after a short while and put on my headphone/microphone combo and try to chat. It's like speaking gibberish. Not working at all.

So I redo the sound check and audio check quality to make sure it's working. It's working.

Still my sentences are garbled and it's like no, no, no, no!!!

Then I move about and look down, my microphone/headphone was unplugged from the computer and the activated-software was trying to use the built-in laptop microphone.

I need a geek-bodmy or a geek-transplant or a geek-I.V. or a geek-transfusion.

I'm losing my mojo geekiness.

If it's any consolation, I spent about 20 minutes try to figure out why our printer quit working after I replaced the black ink. Ran calibration tests, test sheets of basic word documents, took the ink out and reseated it a few times...the computer kept saying there was no black ink cartridge!

Pulled the cartridge out again...um, yeah. I didn't remove the tape on the bottom that keeps the ink from leaking out. I'm hoping to reapply for my geekhood badge later this fall.
