Studio 1 Productions Jib

Neither looks terribly stable to me. The sample video in the second one is jerky and awful. a rope and a treebranch would work as well.

I'm not positive any $500 crane is worth the effort, but lots of people seem to love the kessler crane. They have an 8' version for around 500. Like most cheapy cranes, you really need a $1,000 tripod head to support the $500 arm.

I dunno. If you end up buying one of those, be sure to let us know if it rocks.

cheers

Something tells me that this may not be from the jib itself. Did you see the POS tripod they were using for it? That, and the operator was trying very hard not to be seen in the video, which means that both hands weren't effectively working for the smooth shot.

The overall production quality of that demo video is, honestly, shameful. I don't see how they could expect to sell anything from that.

It's out of your stated price range, but I really like the Libec JB-30. I've used it on some commercial shoots and have gotten great results with it.
