Student licenses

[finchy]

i am a student now and i want to take advantage of apples student discount offer on FCP... a saving of around £300. But i contacted apple and asked what the deal is when i graduate and continue to use it when not a student and they just said i would not be allowed...

surely there should be some way of upgrading to a commercial license so that buying it as a student isnt a waste of money...

anybody been through this situation and would it really be a problem if it was licensed to me and i continued to use it...?

thanks!

you don't have to stop using it when you graduate.... you just can't upgrade it to a newer version.

So if i have a student version... there will be no way of upgrading to studio 3... hmmmm

so i'm better off just paying for the full version so i can take advantage of future upgrades...

Whomever told you about use is wrong. There are no restrictions on the education version, but full point upgrades are not permitted.

I would wait to FCS3 arrives.
