Student Film (stills, and video)

Me and Joe worked today with our friend Mark, a 22 year old in the URI film class (i know, classy), and he wanted to use the DVX for his student film, and we were more than happy to oblige, and the stills show a wide variety of locations and lighting settings. Since one thing me and joe are worried about is lighting, we tried to adapt, and hopefully it didn't come out too bad.

The CC is standard vegas 5 brightness contrast, and color corrector 1 (didn't feel like opening up premiere), and any feedback you guys give me i'll send along to him, thanks a lot guys.

Right after this i'm going to be putting a really small clip online. Thanks guys.

the CU on the cigarettes is teh grain. If you can mask/key and smooth it, it will be better.

I think the snow is completely blown out.

I really like the hallway shot.

depending on what it is you want, you may want to shoot progressive. i can see some interlacing. focus seems to be off, but again your choice. a bit grany and definately in need of cc. clean, focused, well lit footage should be at top of the priority. cc after. having said that, don't know what short is about but the better shots are 2 and 3.

Man, I grew up in Narragansette RI, have a lot of friends that went to, or are going to URI. It's nice to see pics of the old stomping grounds.

it looks very fuzzy to me, and interlaced on all of them. after a bit of CC, it will look a lot better. sorry i just noticed you said it was cc'd. maybe you should re-check the CC. unless you're trying to get this look- it looks very orangeish/brown to me. goodluck!
