Stuck at 9Mbps

Hi there! I'm reading you all since months, and now I purchased a 2009 GH1 (along with a 14-45 lens, and a Canon FD 50 f/1.4), of course I'm taking the hack road.
(I have too a 2010 not hackable model)

But I might need a little help. My goal would be to achieve a 100% reliable 30fps 1280x720 AVCHD hack, with a 24Mbps real average bitrate (i.e. 30fps hack with a 48Mbps set bitrate if I understood well, so that I could record 1 hour 30 on a 16 GB card ; that would be for a cam on a tripod for concert filming - one on the back, static with the 50mm, one other near the stage with the 14-45).

I have a 2009 UK (PAL) model, it's new (had firmware 1.22), and I'm using several 16GB Lexar class 10 SD cards.

Ok, the issue: that's quite straight! I've tried my own settings (48M 30fps Gop6), and several patches I've seen here (especially the 50M/gop3 fast action one), but whatever the firmware hack I stuff my GH1 with, the result is always stuck at 9Mbps (real): the file is always 67-69 MB for a 1 minute clip.

What absolutely obvious am I missing stupidly or doing wrong? Any hint, any clue? Many thanks in advance for your help. ;o)

My last tried settings: (on PTools 3.50d)

firstly what are you shooting to get 9Mbit? you can have it set to 100Mbit but because the codec is variable if it thinks the scene only needs 9Mb it will only give you 9Mbit. Thats whats sucks about avchd. stick your cam infront of pappasart's chart of death and see your peak Mbit, thats a true test to see if your patch is working. You can go with MJPEG, that has constant bitrate, but it has recording limit unfortunately.

I'll try the chart, but I was shooting various things, including the TV (plasma) in close-up, so it was moving. And even a totally static non-moving shoot is taking 9Mbps too. That's quite weird.

I can't use MJPEG, because that one (my hacked GH1) is to be placed on a tripod for an ~1 hour 20 mn set shooting with nobody touching the cam.

But thanks for the tip, I'll try the chart. :)

Bleh! :Drogar-Happy(DBG):
Ok it's working already, hehe.
(getting a 26Mbps on the star chart)

Thanks for the tip, I was worying for nothing, hehe.

I'll keep my settings:
- 1280x720p @ 30 fps bitrate 25Mbps (1 hour 20 mn max on my 16GB class 10 card).
- with GOP 6 (a good compromise I think for fast editing but still a good compression ; and GOP 5 for the 25 fps PAL mode).

First tries it looks like it's rock solid: the chart file is perfect, it's playing in camera and all.
I'll see with real life shooting soon.
