strobing lights at night???????

looked but did not see the 'lights strobing at night' sequence.
point to time to be more specific.

What you are seeing in this piece is almost all editing and animation effects.
I don't think ANY of the elements you are talking about were "filmed".
They were created with rapid-fire edits, visual effects and animations.
Cool stuff...but not generated by any camera.

Assuming you mean these shots:

That is just a slow shutter.

yeah, I looked again and it's all editing.
might be some plug-in effect, or- perhaps- something in AE that does that.
possibly a 'canned' effect from a place that sells footage.

nice looking bits- but, you can make those yourself easy enough.

i'm leaning to it being fast cut edits- looks more like that.

i've kept my 'swipes', 'wipes' and 'sweeps' (you know, garbage shots you don't use in the final edit.) just for pulling off 'effect' shots or transitions in other work.
i think i even keep them in a folder called 'good garbage'!

It is an in camera effect, they just undercranked the camera to 1/4, 1/8, 1/5, or whatever their camera let them undercrank to. It's called "slowshutter" on the DVX.

They probably used some postwork to boost the colors and/or enhance the look.
