I'm hoping someone here can help us out with this age-old question.
We're trying to stripe some HDV tapes with timecode, but our sony HVR 1500 deck will only record blackburst or test pattern to DVCAM or DV.
If I take a tape that has been striped as DV or DVCAM, and use it in a Sony HDV camera, will the timecode persist on the tape? And if so, which record format should we do the original striping with? DV or DVCAM?
