FEATURE: Stricken the Feature - A Matt Sconce Film

UPDATE:

Working on Stricken promotional items right now. In contact with two local theaters working out local premieres. Will be Premiering at the Action On Film Festival on a Friday or Saturday of their event with massive PR push and I will be inviting the Distributors to the screening. There will be giveaways etc at the screening as well. I will be on a News show called Central valley today coming up in June to promote the Projects and show the new teaser. I expect calls back shortly for many other news outlets. Let the PR bandwagon roll! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Fun still:

Get the PR bandwagon moving for sure.

Is there a schedule up yet for the AOF? (Maybe AOF 2010 should get its own thread?)

I know you, Stan, and Kely all have films there this year. Are there other dvxuser films there as well?

From what I hear, it's an outstanding festival so congratulations on that and good luck with the PR.

UPDATE: I am working on Blu-ray screener jacket covers as well as standard ones. I am also working on the art for the actual DVD label today. I will be appearing on Central Valley Today on June 22nd with Gary and Troy. Fun Stuff!

UPDATE!!!!!!!!

Avenal (Where we filmed the hospital scenes) has a brand new state of the art theater and....they are letting us do a local premiere! HD projection two screens at once. They are bringing in skylighting and a red carpet. Press will be there and both our leads. If you want to come....it is on June 25th at 7pm at the theater in Avenal, CA. There will probably be another showing at 9pm because the first will sell out. Woohoo!

Our National Premiere will be at Action On Film Festival sometime between the 23rd and 30th.

I am so excited to be a part of the local premiere at Avenal. The people in that community are so nice and have such wonderful hospitality. After working in and around the town for two weeks, I was so pleased with the kindness shown to us. Everybody, from the clerks at the store to the local Deputy Sheriffs were so friendly and courteous. I kept thinking... What a great place.

I'll be there in a kilt, Laddies! :D

I've been studying how to keep 5.1 dolby in encore and have different audio option choices as well as studying menus and subtitles. I am building my Blu-ray and DVD projects so all I have to do is drop the audio tracks in and burn the discs after getting the audio on the 14th and 15th. After that, I should have a master blu-ray and DVD that can have people choose stereo or 5.1 and director's commentary or not.

Printed a lot of posters today at Nelson Press. One for the Premiere in Avenal and 3 for the Premiere in LA. I also got 1000 4 by 6 double sided cards made for the Festival. Our new business cards came in from Overnight Prints. Things are moving along!

We worked last night on the bluray and DVD menu screen. We chose Sarah Black behind the cracking mirror as the video section for the screen and then balanced in the title STRICKEN, adding a little movement to it, and the buttons:

PLAY MOVIE

SCENE SELECTION

OPTIONS

SPECIAL FEATURES

Do any of you think we should add any other selections to the menu? Just wondering because I am 'an inquiring mind who wants to know... ' :cheesy:

We are on NORRIS today for AOF Festival. Just a few tweaks.

On the future front, I have completely finished the screenplay THE PARK we will shoot next. All tweaks, spelling checks are finished. I set up a stop watch and vocally read through the entire script last night. I timed the non verbal sections of the screenplay in my mind and added music in my mind where it will be occurring. I was pleasantly pleased with the time of the feature: One hour, fourty six minutes... Just about perfect! Yay! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) Now, on to finishing the screenplay for NODES.

Matt, I am so excited to watch this movie.
I really studied the shots you showed of the hospital. I was one of the last babies to be born there.
My grandfather also helped get the hospital here in Avenal and later died in it.
I can not wait to see it and am excited to be at hte premire and really hope I can manage to get tickets!

Was just idly playing with coming to the premiere - 11 hour drive one way - but I do need some fremont refinery shots - be nice to get the 560 out of the barn for a run - how can I sell this . . .

Anyway, checked the ticket link - they've got you booked on 2 screens at 6 - 8:30 - and 11 !
May you sell every seat. Now THAT'll get some attention.

How's the mix coming??

Both 6pm showings just sold out. We'll see how the others do.

I am driving down to LA with James Mierkey late tomorrow to see the progress of the mixing on Monday. It should be awesome!

Well, it seems the tickets are going fast. That's good. First screening at 6pm is showing sold out and there are a lot the 8:30pm tickets already sold. Wow. We are going to have so much fun!

Matt left with James Mierkey for Burbank, CA to check on the sound stuff. They will be meeting with Steve Tibbo tomorrow.

We are working on another local premiere in the Oakhurst area for test screening. Things are speeding up again!

I found this cool vintage pic of Avenal Theater where we will be on June 25th. They have restored it now. What an art deco beauty!

Check out the Avenal Theater web page... STRICKEN is advertised in the middle of the page! It is our hope that this is repeated across America...

I would like DVXuser's help finding a solid, honest lawyer who knows the movie industry trade. We will be needing legal representation in negotiations with distributors soon and want to do things correctly. Preferably a west coast person. Thanks for the help. I know... 'honest' and 'lawyer' are sometimes an oxymoron, but I do know some. :cheesy:

Do you have any times for AOF yet?

It looks like it is possibly Tuesday prime time for STRICKEN. We'll know for sure tomorrow. Don't know about NORRIS yet.

Man, the waiting is like a :nads:.

Matt says the trip down was full of WIN. He has almost completely approved reel 1, 2 and 3.1 for sound design, score and final mix. All that is waiting is for adding the foley into the mix for those reels. So close now... :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) The sound team is so amazing. :kali:

Hey... The thousandth post! WOW!
