Alright I found myself some major deals on the dvx100a/b up on craigslist

I can get a dvx100B for 1500 canadian with about 540 hours on the heads, and it comes with all the stock accessories and battery (5600mah?)

Or I can get a dvx100A for also 1500 canadian but it only has 278 hours....and it comes with a pelican hard case and an extra battery and all the stock accessories.

Is the dvx100B worth it over the A?

have u looked around the marketplace here? there are always some good deals with lower hrs than those..with more stuff alot of times 2 from people who take care of their stuff.

The first one is from a studio that's upgrading to HD cameras so i don't think it would be treated badly, and the second one is from a guy that doesn't use it anymore and its in really good condition. So i don't think they have any problems with them. Also, I want to buy locally, no shipping.

if you were chosen down to those two, get the A version, good condition and has been used less. There are differences between the two..but they aren't major.

WHY ARE YOU BUYING SD EQUIPMENT MAN??

HD is where it's at.
well i'm not buying a an HVX because its way more expensive...and im just a starting film maker and I want to have a decent camera to play with. I also looked at the hv30 but i prefer the dvx100 :)

you really should check the marketplace forum here. its flooded with DVXs right now and the deals are great as well as reputable people selling them.

i realise we havent answered ur question:) i dont have either...i'm gettin a 100b in 2 weeks or so..but there are minor differences from hwat i've read. one of the biggest being the tape mechanism being different allowing for timelapse with the 100b to be non existent now. i guess the more experienced users will chime in

time lapse? wouldn't you just record like an hour of footage then speed it up? what does the camera have to do with time lapse lol

do the research and u'll see :)..i'm only going off what i've read on the forums and online other places

ok i've decided to go with the dvx100B as the other guy (dvx100A) couldn't meet me at 5pm, and this one can :) so i guess him staying at work till 5 loosing the 10 bucks for that hour made him loose out on 1500 dollars.
