stream to a laptop?

can the hd100 stream out of firewire to a laptop in its hdv codec? it can do it to firestore so it should be able to do it to a laptop right?

in a perfect world, it'd be cool if it could go from component to a laptop but it sounds like you need some huge raid array to capture via component and there are no laptops with component in anyways...
 
The camera sends compressed data to the Firestore...or will when it get rated. Component out is uncompressed data and thus would overwhelm any laptop that I know of but then again I'm not the be-all and end-all on the HD100. If anyone knows of a laptop with HD SDI, I'd love to know of it as well. Stephen... anything from your knowledge base?

that's what i'm wondering, if the camera can send compressed data stream straight to a laptop with a firewire connection.
 
I'm sorry, I believe the answer is yes. We're dealing in uncompressed but firewire with compressed should be OK for you.
 
If we put the deal together, you really need to join us "2nd Unit" in Tunica in mid-April. It's all about bang-bang. We'll even put you on a horse, give you a pair of .45s and some instruction and send you through the course. This business is a blast when you get to work cool shows... OK , and when you're the boss as Filmgirl says! No kidding. I really hope you accept the offer and can make it. We'll have fun. can you please explain the sequence in which you streamed to mac laptop. do i need to have fcp on the laptop, cause i don't. but i can open m2t files. i have fcp on my g5.
