Don't ask... but I was goinf for the "Domino" look. Which is really simple.
I over-did it though. Eh, just a test. I think that you need to light really properly to bring up your contrast to 100% I wonder if they worried about that sort of thing in dominio.

and no this is not a cry for help.

It's symbolic for my inability to make proper films, and I want to kill that part of my thinking, and get out of the rut.

and make something real?

Domino was shot on reversal, so they had their hands full just keeping the exposure in check, and then they cross-processed. Good contrast is achieved with lighting and then exaggerated in post. If the shadows aren't there, fx aren't going to give you the edges you need to work with. That looks like it was lit flat.

Tony Scott's look also consists of a lot of hand held phtography and (usually) innapropriate rack focusing. A look better suited when he's making BMW commercials that only last 10minutes. Not 2 hours.

no offense but i thought that was hilarious... especially before there was a gun... the eyes going back and forth had my dying laughing before he even took the gun out - and even when the gun was out... i was laughing - and im not evil... just something about the music not really matching it at all for me i guess

Well, to be honest. I had orginally had the video in color. and it was fairly normal. with the seinfeld music. it was hilarious.

but, like... I thought people would of thought I was insane if it wasn't dark and depressing.
