Strange Video Error in FCP playback window.

I'm getting these errors in FCP about 3/4 times I playback from the timeline. It does not show up in rendered footage, but its really annoying because it flashes randomly and it distracting. Here are some pictures:

Its hard to see in the bottom photo but its their. I have tried different projects, setting ect. This is a Pro Rez timeline, as you can see it happens whether or not their is footage playing or not.

I have a clean install of OSX 10.6.2, FCP studio 3, Mac Pro from 2007 with 2 GB ram and a ATI 1900xt.

IIRC some editors I work with had similar problems and it was the video card going out. There seems to have been a bad batch of the 1900xt's that ended up in some Macs.

Looks like a video card issue.

Try carefully and properly removing the video card, and then reseating it.

Ill give that a shot, weird it only happens in FCP. Also, I boot 10.4.9 with FCP studio 2 and no issues, thats why I thought it must be a software issue.

NOpe...the card. I had the 1900XT and that is EXACTLY what happened before my card went out...died. And the glitches only happened in FCP. Although it was Call of Duty 2 that killed the card.

lol..... ya, i put is some time on COD 2, and 4, and 5, and bfbc2..... thats probably the issue.

I did clean the fan out not too long ago... so Im hoping it just needs a reseat.
