Strange vertical bands in reds?

Hmmm. This is quite upsetting. I've just imported my footage off the HVX and noticed these strange vertical bands appearing in the red colours. But only the red colours. I only had one shot at filming this, so I'm a little bit pissed.

Is this a documented 'feature' of the HVX, or is my camera hosed? All my other footage is fine.

Anybody else seen anything like this before?

It looks like standard DV color compression (4:1:1) , strange since this footage would be 4:2:2. I don't know why that happened, but a chroma blur filter in your NLE will fix it.

I get that with my footage from the HVX too. Noticeable more with reds than any other colour. I assumed it was just the the colour resolution. Even 4:2:2 isn't really matching the luma resolution 1:1, so it's bound to happen with solid blocks of bright colour like that.
