Hey there.

Hope this is the right Place to put this.

I mounted my GF1 with the very solid BM-254 from FEISOL to my Bike
to film some stuff.
After i came home to check out i noticed that the whole Image is shaking crazy.
I filmd many times from bike which was shakey because i handhelded, but
was no Problem to fix it in post with vegas stabalizer.

But this is like the Image itself is shaking and wobbling

Its unfixable in Postprocessing ;)

Is it possible that the virbrations cause the camera not not funktion properly?
Or was it to cold? Was about 8 C°
Maybe the mounting screw was to tight and camera was streched in some way?!

Any ideas?

greetings

unless your bike has some sort of suspension system like a mountain bike, I'm not surprised that fixing it to the stiff bicycle frame caused vibrations. was it mounted to a basket? that my cause vibrations too. what lens were you shooting with?

Wobble. This phenomenon is most common in hand-held shots at telephoto settings, and most extreme in cases when the camera is vibrating due to being attached to a moving vehicle. The rolling shutter causes the image to wobble unnaturally and bizarrely. This is often called the jello effect.

Well this is it :)
Very Sad, had great Plans to film downhill rides :]
I guess a new camera has to do it :D

That is a good question. Was on Automatic, just pressed the REC button ;)
You think there is hope this can be fixed? :D
Well, all bets are off when camera is set on automatic. Since you are shooting 720p you should at the very least be in Shutter Priority mode with shutter speed set to 1/60. If this results in very small apertures being used (> f/8) you will need to look into either getting some ND filters or perhaps moving onto 1/125 shutter speed. For 60p mode I found that to be appropriate.

If you use a wide lens and attach the camera very securely to cut down on vibration it should be perfectly useable.
