<Out of the blue this morning my 3 month old HVX 201 is behaving strange.
1. Zoom was stuck in servo and manual mode ! I was only able to move it from 4.2 til 7!
I was careful not to force it over the stop point and rebooted a couple of times= nada.
then I got it solved:
I took the camera in power off mode, grabbed it by its handlebar and gently with the lens looking upwards shook it so I could hear the loose parts in the lens gently clunkering...
THAT loosened the solenoid evidently and now it works again.
but now comes the 2nd:
when zoom is in the range between 4 and 8 there is a rhythmic *blurb-blurb-blurb* sound coming from the lens! It enters AUDIO !! heavily !!
with zoom above 8 the sound is gone...
after about 3 minutes of power on the sound sometimes goes away when fully zoomed out but using the servo motor will turn it on again!
any takers on this ?
the panasonic warranty people in Italy tell me its NOT a warranty issue but dirt in the lens:thumbdown
