Strange movement on EX1

I have bought the EX1 and I am not very convince about the movement of the images. I suppose is because of the rulling shutter stuff, but I see kind of flickering or something in any movement. I have tested in 1080p because is what I want. I didnit notice that in the Panasonic.

Maybe I can fixed that with any change in the angle, o shuter speed...

I feel like every frame is created from up to down like an old computer or something, not clean movement. Very unpleasant to see.

Can anyone tell me what is this happening and how to fix it or minimize it?

Thank you! :)

Turn on the shutter!
The small switch is located on the front of the camera. Change it to 1/48 (180 deg.) for 24P( (23.97P).

The switch comes set to OFF on all new cameras.

Also, to get a really good representation of final cadence, render it out and play it back on a monitor,
do not rely on just playing the footage via component out of the camera.

And if you're using VLC - try another player! (e.g. ZoomPlayer)
VLC always has some very strange and stuttering playback (on windows, linux and mac).

Version 0.9 seems to fix it, but it is prealpha ware.

ok

ok

I was using VLC in fact. :)

I have put 1/50 shutter because I live in Spain so we have PAL here. I suppose this is good.

1- If I use slowmo in mode 720/24p in maximun grade: 60 Fps, I suppose I have to put shutter 1/60?

2- What is the difference betwen the angle and the speed?

3- What tricks I could use to get the less dof?

4 - Where I can get look preset of config to have the same gamma, contrast, etc, look of FILM or at least, more near HVX200?

THANK YOU!! :)

1) If you want 60fps slow-mo, you want 1/120 shutter speed. Or just put the shutter in Syncro Scan mode and use 180 degrees.

2) the angle tracks with the frame rate, to ensure that you're getting proper film-style motion blur at any frame rate. At least, it does on the HVX, I believe it does so on the EX1 as well.

3) open up the iris as much as possible, get as close as possible, and zoom in as far as possible. Or just use a Letus Extreme or other 35mm adapter.

I want to use a adaptor to the camera, but I will shoot a film in 2 weeks, so I dont have time to arrange that. I will rent something here in Madrid. but they dont have LETUS. What other brand can be used with EX1? What adaptor? What is the size in mm of the lens socket of the EX1?

Thanks :)
