Strange Coincidences

Okay, this might be a bit of a strange thread, but has anyone else noticed that there are eery similarities between many of the entries? I'm not talking rip-offs and the like (I don't think that's what's going on), but just kind of "what-are-the-odds?" type moments.

Here are two of my favorites:
1. Same music used in "The Borders of Elysium" and "Cold Calls" for one scene. Royalty free, but still...
2. Two shorts involving boys fishing while entirely alone in the world? Come on!!! They took them in different directions, but still...

Anybody else notice stuff like that?

Two shorts where women "bait" and kill a male.

You know I had the same thought.

And ironically two films about a parent grieving over a lost daughter both came from Portland OR.

Something in the water maybe. :)

But I think any contest with 69 films is going to have some strikingly similar themes.

I think I know what may be causing these weird happenings. Or at least part of it.

If you saw on the BBC two nights ago, scientists say they have found what they
believe to be a black hole that is emitting matter. You heard right, 'emitting'
matter. I thought they could only absorb matter. Anyways, not sure if that's dark
matter or energy or what, but it's been affecting the satellites I guess. Maybe
that's what's causing dvxuser to go offline so much recently.

But here's the kicker, they said if you check the rotational direction of the water
that flows down your drains, you might notice something unusual.
I've been checking mine and now there's no rotation.
I kid you not. We'll, okay, I'm completely kidding. Happy Twilightfest.:Drogar-Love(DBG):

its thoughts like these that quite often lead to other thoughts... like those....

Now I'll be brutally honest.......You *******....you got me, I was about to try the drain thingy!!!!!!!:2vrolijk_08:

lol. That was funny. I wasn't sure if the last bit was too over the top, hahaha.

I was thinking the same thing about phones. The first 3 I watched had some type of phone call and they were not ones I knew phones were going to be in them.

Weirdest thing for me, I put a ball in my film, right? Harmless, nothing major, put a ball in there because I felt it helped the story move along, and then, WTF?!?!?! It seems like at least every other film has a freakin' ball in it!

Crazy sh**, man.

Posse out.

Not to spoil anything, but gotta correct that - one lost, one sick.

Two fishing and one guy fishing at a laundry mat....this is getting creepy?

Right you are.

I was using 'lost' in the general sense. And truthfully, neither children were actually "lost".

Ah, I see. And I agree. :)

I've noticed a few emerging themes that run through these films, as well. I think that's the nature of the genre, though.
