GH3 Strange blocky lowlights on LCD

I got my GH3 today and I love it! As the sun went down I held the camera and aimed it on an underexposed area while looking at the image on the LCD. All of a sudden I see massive blockiness going on all over in the underexposed area. As I changed the focus so did the blocky parts following all the underexposed area. It looked like really bad compression artifacts or something like that. Tried to change to All I mode from the 50 mb/s .mov but it was still there. Tried to turn the camera on and off, still there. By now I was really freaked out, so I grabbed my HDMI monitor and connected it, and all of a sudden it was clean with a nice transition from the correctly exposed area to the underexposed. The recorded footage looks great, so I wonder what happened and if anyone else has experienced this before? I didn't manage to take a picture of the screen to show you guys, but it looked pretty bad!

ive noticed this same thing on my Gh3 when shooting dark receptions. Looks a lot worse and really splotchy on oled than the final result.

I guess that it wouldnt bother me if it always was there but this happened once and now it looks better. That makes me think that it could be a software issue... But I know what you're talking about with the dark areas. But other than this I find the lcd screen really nice and sharp! EVF is worthless, the GH2 EVF is better imo.
