strange audio pops

I'm having this trouble with a music track I'm putting on a piece.

I bought an MP3 file from a music website to use in a piece. I've never had any trouble with them before or with using MP3s in FCP. When I play the song in iTunes, there are no pops. But when I play it in FCP and in the timeline, there are the same three pops in the same place.

Any suggestions on what is causing this or possible solutions? Any help is appreciated.

It's really odd, but hopefully I'm missing something simple.

Without actually hearing what you're hearing, it's really hard to say for sure.

Did you convert your MP3 to 16-bit/48kHz AIFF? That's the audio that FCP needs. MP3 is not an editing format.

I saw that you posted similar info on another question on the board just a moment after I put this up. I saved it again as a 16bit AIFF and now it seems the pops are gone.

Thank you for the help. I appreciate it!
