Straight forward 35mm decision...

wow... haha. i never thought posing such a simple question would get so out of control. thanks for those who have helped.

to get back on track....

Wait till the blade is released before you buy anything, just to see what it can do as compared to the other systems available.

Try Renting a few different adapters. If you arent going to use the adapter all the time, consider renting them for projects. this way you can have the best and latest, greatest. If i didint use the adapter all the time, i would have bought the best glass i can find, and just rented adapters on the occasions when i need them.

the brevis is basically identical in performance and operation to the Letus Elite. though it has the advantage of multiple GGs. but the vibrating design really limits it with the more diffused ones. i don't even thing you can use the most diffused GG past f1.4.

I wouldn't call it identical without a side by side(but If you've done so I'll stand corrected). There may be differences in features, edge to edge, bokeh, CA, etc... Anyways, the CFX(L) gg is pretty much the replacement for the CF(L)3 gg which was the most diffused. Reportedly, one can stop the CFX(L) down to f/4 -f/5.6. The old CF3 was a mixed bag where some lenses(50mm) could be stopped down to f/2.8 and some(like telephoto lenses) would see grain at f/2.8. I wasn't a fan of the cf3 series at all.

i haven't done a side by side comparison, no. there are enough of those around and on their way...

maybe this new cfx series has changed things. but the basic design and function of the brevis is identical to the elite, cept you can change the GG's. which is what i said. i'm not up to date with the cfx so i can shut up now i guess :)
