I drink. Mainly beer; Corona, Pacifico w/ Lime. Do I drink every week? No. Tends to be more in the nicer 'Summer' weather or around hoildays. Pacifico w/ Lime, Chip and Slasa and some good ole Fish Tacos at the beach side cafe. Nothing cooler than relxaing with some buddies and having a few beers.

well, i just don't see anything good coming out of doing either.
alchohol is just not for me. i hate being around people that drink because they always seem to forget who they really are. all my friends that drink say that "they're just having a good time." i don't get it. plus, i don't have money to kill.
as for smoking, i just can't understand what people get out of it. i asked my cousin why he smokes and he couldn't give me a straight answer. he just said it relieves stress or some BS like that. smoking, for me, is an annoyance that trully reigns supreme. i get nauseated to everytime i go to vegas. disgusting.

I was really into straight edge back in the late 80's and early 90's when the REAL hardcore existed, unlike all these poser new school hardcore kids.
but I drink and I love it!( and I only smoke when I drink)
Most of my friends were sXe kids back in days, some of them were in well known hardcore bands, but they all drink and smoke and they are bunch of yuppies now.

I'm digging it on both accounts.
Some people should not drink. Period. When your personality is completely altered and you become 'something else' and usally in a negative way; you should not drink. Drinking to excess or passing out is not the way to go either.
Smoking? I agree nothing comes out of it. Maybe you shouldnt go to Vegas.

I find that most people training for the IRONMAN tend to feel this way about smoking.

I smoke but only drink around social events....sometimes will have a glass of wine with dinner but for the most part alcohol puts me to sleep.
I don't smoke in my house and I can't smoke in the office so I'm totally an outdoor smoker. I'm also conscious about smoking around non-smokers...I usually don't.

Good point Djis; I am very concientious of non-smokers and where I light up. However, in VEGAS? Forget about it.

My problem w/ the sXe kids is that they're only straight edge because it's cool. Or because the singer of they're favorite band is sXe.
sXe is supposed to be 'poison free'. Well if you've got tattoos you've poisoned your body by using outside toxins. So anyone with X's tattooed on they're hands is advertising they're stupidity.
I spent a lot of time in that scene, and all I saw was people wearing/ doing things because it fit the mold of "punk rock" or "straight edge".

I used to smoke everything and drink a ton. I just drink on the weekends now, not every weekend, and have an occasional cig. I found that before i did these things i had a nice cam in my hands... when i picked up another nice one(DVX), i dropped the substances, as I haven't the time for it w/ the DVX in my hands!!
