Storing the HVX

I haven't been able to find the answer to this one...

I just finished carving out the foam for my HVX's hard case. What I just realized is that when I'm carrying the case by the handle, which is the same position I'd be most likely to set it down somewhere or when it's put away, the camera is upside down in the case. It's pretty snug, so it's not going anywhere, but it's resting on the foam, on the mic/handle and eye-piece. Is that bad?

This things pretty rugged, so it wouldn't be a big issue. The on board mic isn't all that strong, being an added thing, but it looks to me like the handle should have no problem if the weight is properly distributed. Obviously it's not built to do that, but if it's in foam and supported thoroughly I doubt there would be a problem.

There was a thread on this a couple of years ago. As I recall, people felt the main thing to avoid is having the HVX resting on its lens, either when the case is being carried or when it is sitting on the ground or stored. The thread even had pictures of the proper way to cut the foam and orient the camera.

Hope that helps,
Kevin

Thanks guys! Man, those instructions on how to cut the foam would have been nice. I think I did alright in the end, but it sure doesn't look pretty.
