HPX250: Storing P2 Cards ... the Panasonic way?

Is there a problem with storing P2 cards in the camera? As far as I can tell, some operators always leave their formated cards in the camera so they are ready to shoot, while others prefer to take them out and store them in the plastic cases. What is the Panasonic way? Mainly concerned with warranty issues. Or does it matter?
 
I leave 'em in the camera all the time, and have done so since 2005, never had an issue... if you have too many to leave them in the camera, then you might as well use the plastic cases.
 
I haven't heard of issues with palmcorders, but I do NOT ship P2 cards in our HPX2700 because the release tabs stick out and cards get a bit loose and jam the sliding door, requiring the side panel to be removed, cards reseated, along with release tabs.
 
I leave them in sometimes, but usually take them out and store them in the plastic case at the end of the day (mostly because I have 2 cameras I share cards in between). I see no reason that they could not be stored inside the camera. Look at all the consumer based cameras that have been out there for years and most people leave SD and CF cards inside their cams. P2 cards, I would think, are more robust and rugged so I would bet it's fine to leave them inside the cameras.
 
I have two in my camera's all the time and the spares in the camera bag in their plastic cases, never had any problems.
 
Yes, I have four cards (well, five, but the 4GB card gets little usage) and i always have two in the camera, two in the cases. I'd say that being in the camera protects the camera AND the cards from dust. And long ago (maybe still?) Panny always discussed P2 longevity in relation to "insertion cycles" or something similar... they were good for something like 250,000... so I don't want to push that margin.

On a related topic, many multi-capsule mics come in cases cut so that the caps have to be removed for storage. I often make my own picknpluck cases, and tend to leave enough space to store mics with a capsule on... there are some caps i use for most gigs, and some on rarer occasions. I've asked a number of mic manufacturers if there's any preference for storing mics with or without caps attached (oxidation? dust? wear and tear on threads, connectors? the risk of dropping capsules?) with no clear response.

I DO know it would be better to keep clip-ons in a protective case, but after a week or so of good intentions I never do.
