Storing HVX in backpack

Just wondering if anyone knows a reason why I should not store my HVX on its side (tape door side down) in my camera bag?

I have the Lowepro computrekker bag, which I really like, and it housed my GL2/DVX fine but my HVX is much larger and the top of the camera sticks up above the bags lining, making it vulnerable to pressure from things being placed on top of it.

My solution has been to lay the camera on its side, Ive carved out a good little spot ofr it in the bag and it seems to work fine but I want to be sure no damage will come of this unconvential storage method.

On another note... can anyone confirm whether or not the eyepiece arm is supposed to be loose or are yours locked tight? I am worried that maybe Ive already damaged the top of the camera by storing it the way I had.

Thanks

I have carried my DVX100 lens down in a backpack with good padding on the bottom, side supports and top support (so that it's almost suspended but not quite) for several years with no ill effects. Balanced suspension is the key!
