Storing Cameras in safe

I would like to store my Z1U in a locked "Brinks" safe to protect my investment against theft or fire.

Here is an example of the type of safe.

Is the the environment inside a locked safe going to harm my Z1 in any way? I've read that the camera should be stored in a well ventilated space.

:undecided

Well.. it sounds like that safe isn't too "well ventilated" as it can protect it's contents from a blazing fire for up to 1 hour.

Have you contacted the Safe company? I'd ask them how well the air flow is in their safes. (i'm guessing not good).

But I guess what your wondering is "Can the Z1U be stored in an air tight environment" right?

If you're not worried about the house catching on fire for safety you could save yourself the money and get yourself a baseball bat. Trust me, bats are great investments. I keep one in my room and car at all times.

Plus you don't have to worry about any ventilation worries either.:)

Put a handle on that, and you'd put Pelican outa business!

You sir, are amazing.

What about like, insurance?

I don't see any reason though as to why a camera couldn't be in an airtight environment, its not like its using the air for anything. Although keeping it very clean could never hurt.

I lived with a roomate that actually held my VX2000 hostage twice. I need to secure my cameras.

My main concern is that there is a humidity factor inside the safe that could potentially damage the heads.
