I am in need of some advice.
I'm going to upgrade to a 27" imac in september/october and as they maximum storage is 2tb. I was thinking of purchasing a readynas NV+ and putting my PC hard drives in it (3tb), this is because I can not afford the high price of a Mac Pro.
Now here is the thing I'm confused about. I'm not a network whiz and was hoping you could help. Can I edit over firewire or ethernet on the NV+ as if it was a removable hard drive?
I don't want to clog the iMac up with footage.
Are there significant performance boosts/drops from using this method?
or are there any other options.
If anyone could help I'll be greatly appreciated
