storage of dvx upside-down in case

Hello

I am wondering if anyone here could forsee any possible issues arising from the storage of a dvx-100a upside-down within a hardcase. The camera is placed right side up when the pelican 1600 case is open on the floor, but when the case is closed and placed upright, the dvx would be upsidedown.

Am I worrying about nothing? Do other people store their camera upsidedown as well like this as well within their cases? Thanks a lot. :cheesy:

Yah--definitely dude... That is not what should be happening here.
What any serious user would do (and we assume you are a serious user, aren't you?)
You should think about G's; the gravitional forces that inhibit the transport process.
You see? It's all too simple, really.

Oh geez, SERIOUSLY DO NOT DO THAT.

Didn't your cam come with a warning sticker on it; telling you to stay away from that very thing?

I think salberg11 must have been sold a "for sale in China only" model. Everything's backwards on those models, and you need to squint to see what you're shooting.

The worst part is you're hungry again ten minutes after shooting.

The fluids that surround the internal mechanism of the lens that control the optical image stabilization. It somehow will leak out over time if left upside down.

Be "very" carefull about not having that fluid leak out, it cost's around $300 to have it fixed, plus the shipping, and the down time without your camera.
It took 5 weeks to get mine back.

Man, I'm so glad to hear that Panasonic will be switching from the hydraulic system employed by the DVX to a pneumatic one on the HVX.

Rock on!

That's where the delay is with the DVX100b, there is some problem with a pressure leak.

I'm looking forward to it, should be smooth.

Salberg11 - I'm getting ready for bed and I will not be able to sleep tonight thinking you are re-cutting the foam inserts in your new Pelican case.... so the joke is up.
We've just been having a bit of fun with you since it was your first post. It's sort of an initiation around here.

There's nothing wrong with it being upside-down in the case as long as it's padded well.
(And there is no fluid in there.....)

Welcome to the forum, you'll learn a ton from the guys/gals here.

Salberg, remember that although there are no stupid questions, this place has a plethora of stupid answers. Good advice for any Internet forum. :)

Pookie dude. This is racist. Backwards? Squinting? Hungry? Think about it. It's also kind of stupid. The people who built the camera, who put all the complex parts together and who know more about it than you, were probably Asian.

Hey, everyone knows that everything in China is upside down. Australia and India too for that matter. Just look at a globe. Even their toilets flush backwards. And they do print the tiniest user manuals I have ever seen. I never even knew there WAS a 1 point font.

But what about the Flux Capacitor? How will that be affected? Mr. Fussion wont be invented for the next 10 years. Damn.
