I need a great storage and media management solution. I am looking for the best and fastest solution for storing up to 4 terabytes of media and to have fast access for editing in FINAL CUT PRO and to be able to create redundancy for safety. would love for it to be as hassle free as possible and easy to set up. may be looking for the holy grail here but....Any thoughts?

This greatly depends on what types of ports you have. Which Mac are you running?
 
What is the budget for the storage (do you want redundancy and back-up or just redundancy)? What is the budget for the media management solution? What kind of media are you dealing with?

A fast, reliable RAID 5 solution will probably cost $5k on the lower end and hardware + software for Final Cut Server (for media management) will probably start around $2k-2.5k

budget is 2-6k. thought redundancy and back up were the same thing?... anyway.
media management is a must! would love advice on that as well

An example of redundancy would running in RAID-1 where as an example of back-up would be having all your footage duplicated onto FW drives and put on a shelf somewhere (ideally off site). Redundancy keeps down time to a minimum if a disk fails, but if you accidentally delete a file or a power surge fries your hardware redundancy will not help you.

media management is a must! would love advice on that as well

Final Cut Server is probably the best, most integrated MM software to use w/FC Studio, but it's also expensive, requires extra hardware, and won't be the easiest thing to get setup and running. Frameline 47, CatDV, and FootTrack are some software only options. I've personally never used any of these before but we are scheduled to get FC Server up at my job soon.
