Stop motion only in 720/60p?

I'm shooting and DPing a project for a friend on Tuesday. He wants to edit with and have a final 24p/16:9 HD project. But the final output that he needs to turn in is 480/60i/4:3 on miniDV tape.

I was planning on shooting 1080/24pA to give him the best results, but he wants his product shot to be stop motion. Is my only option for progressive stop motion 720p/60p? If so, I don't really like the idea of having a completely 1080 timeline with one 720 shot. Should I just shoot 720p/24p?

Really? Ok thanks! So If I shoot in 1080/24pA, then shoot the stop motion in 1080/30p, then I drag that clip into the 24p sequence, it will automatically remove 6 frames per second to match the rest of the footage right?

Also, I've only really used 720/24pN and 720/60p, so this will be my first time shooting 1080. When I log/transfer 1080/24pA footage, does it automatically take out the pulldown frame making it 23.98 footage? Or is it still 29.97?

Probably, but that's not the way you'd want to do it. You'd be better off to just play that 30P clip at 80% speed and then it'd become frame-accurate 24p. Or you can probably use Cinema Tools to conform that 1080/30p clip into now believing that it's a 1080/24p clip.

It's supposed to automatically remove it.

Thanks Barry! Is one option better than the other? Or are will they both work equally as good (80% speed up or cinema tools)?
