Stop Motion Animation college project

Hello
I am a student and want to pursue something creative for a living and am in an animation class right now that I really enjoy. I have made one clay animation(fyi the word 'claymation' is copyrighted) that my teacher really enjoyed and he has encouraged me to pursue animation because of it. Here is that video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygy6qvg1lt4

So my thing is that I can make things that most people I know enjoy, but they are often missing a point. i.e. theme. So for this animation I am trying to think of a theme for it. Right now I am thinking something political, possibly a criticism of the two-party system, but I got a head full of ideas.

Also I want to make it visually unlike anything else. I am trying to create creatures that I have never seen before out of clay and the scenery will be cool to look at and aesthetically pleasing (meaning lines, shape, color etc. all have a hidden meaning, think wes anderson). I will probably try to not have language in it so I do not have to spend time lip-syncing **** and so it goes beyond the english language.

I have about two months to complete this and will be updating this thread when I have made sets and advances in the storyline or to respond to comments.

The biggest suggestion I can make is have a story. Currently there is not much of one there. South Park's original short and Robot Chicken episodes are great examples of low tech animation techniques that are very entertaining. What you've got is a good start on technique, but now the question is finding some entertaining story to tell.

Good luck!

Chris

Yes I realize that from the clip I showed you there is no story line. The basic premise is that the evil guy(black and white) is chasing the good guy(color) and going around trying to take all his choices away.
Thanks for the comment though.

So I just finished adding sound to this clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3uzAv2sdSw
I made the clip for my animation final and that is why it focuses on the animation and not any plot development.
My plot basically revolves around the idea that I think it is ridiculous that you can go to a burger joint and get a hamburger 100 different ways or go to a Wal-Mart and you have a ridiculous selection of things you don't even need, but then when you go to vote you only have two realistic choices. I am still working a lot on the plot and I'm not getting completely into it, but basically it goes something like this: The good guy goes to vote and he gets freaked out because he only has two choices so he runs out of the center. When he runs out you see the evil guy pick up his ballot. Basically the evil guy then goes around taking away the good guys choices whereever he goes and trying to get him to vote. It ends with the good guy discovering that he can vote for a 3rd party and the world becomes a better place. There is a lot more to it that I don't want to get into right now.

Any criticism/comments would be appreciated.
